Returns & Exchanges, Made Simple

We guarantee the quality of every CARFIA pair — and we want you to be 100% happy with it. This page tells you, in plain words: can I return it, who pays, and when will my money come back?

1. I changed my mind

Wrong size or style, or you simply don't love it. Not a quality problem.

1. I changed my mind — 14-Day Fit & Style Guarantee

Not in love with it? Within 14 days of receiving your order, you can return it for a one-time exchange or a refund 

  • Time limit: 14 days from delivery. After that, returns for non-quality reasons are not possible.
  • One time only: one return or exchange per order; an exchanged item cannot be returned again.
  • Condition: unworn (or in best condition if tried on), with original packaging, labels and accessories.
  • What you get: refund of the item price, or an exchange for a pair of equal or lesser value (we ship the new pair after your return arrives).
  • What you pay: return shipping. The original outbound shipping fee is not refunded.

Between day 15 and day 30? Keep the glasses and contact us — we'll send you a discount code for a new pair (you pay shipping and any price difference on the new order).

2. It's our fault — we fix it free

If the problem is on our side, CARFIA covers everything. We provide a prepaid return label and offer a free remake, a free replacement, a full refund — your choice where applicable.

  • Damaged on arrival → free remake or full refund.
  • Wrong item or wrong lenses shipped (frame, color, prescription, lens type) → we correct it at our cost.
  • Missing or defective accessory → we send what's missing, or remake/compensate (gift card or partial refund if you keep an item whose defect doesn't affect wear).
  • Defect within 30 days of wear (craftsmanship or material) → free remake and re-ship, or a gift card including free shipping.

All you need: order number + frame model + a photo of the issue. No fee applies in any of these cases.

3. Prescription & customized lenses

Customized lenses are made individually for you, so they have their own rules:

  • We need a valid prescription (issued within the last 24 months). Expired prescriptions are not accepted.
  • If we made the lenses wrong → we remake or refund at our cost, prepaid label included.
  • If the error was on your side (wrong prescription given, expired Rx, wrong measurement) → you can request an exchange within 30 days of receipt (original prescription required). You pay return shipping and any price difference.
  • Once production of custom lenses has started, the order can no longer be resold as new — cancelling at that point is subject to the fees in section 5.

4. One-Year Warranty

Every CARFIA pair is covered for one (1) year from the date of receipt against defects in materials and workmanship.

  • First 30 days of wear: handled under section 2 — free remake and re-ship, or gift card including shipping.
  • After 30 days: warranty repair or replacement. Returns and replacement shipping are free — we provide the prepaid label and ship at no cost to you.
  • Not covered: damage from accidents, negligence or improper care, and normal wear and tear.
  • Warranty replacements are non-refundable, but can be exchanged for an equal-value pair if the replacement itself is defective.

5. Cancelling or changing an order — the fees, plainly

Changing your shipping or billing address (same country), or merging orders before shipment? Free. For other cancellations, it depends on how far your order has progressed:

When you cancel Frame only & accessories Glasses with prescription / paid lenses
Being processed, before shipment Free 10% of order amount — processing fee
After the package has shipped 30% of order amount — restocking fee 30% of order amount — restocking fee

 

  • How it's calculated: percentage of the affected item's pre-tax subtotal — taxes and shipping are not included in the base.
  • Never charged for our mistakes: if the cancellation is due to a quality issue or warranty claim, all fees are waived and we pay the return shipping.

6. When will I get my refund?

One simple timeline, two clocks:

Clock 1 — Our side

Within 48 hours (2 business days)

Once you send us your tracking number, or once your return arrives and passes inspection, we submit your refund or ship your replacement.

Clock 2 — Your bank / PayPal

3–14 business days

Credit/debit card: 5–10 business days (usually about 1 week). PayPal: 3 business days. Klarna & installment providers: 3–14 business days. Store credit: immediate.

If your refund hasn't arrived after the maximum time above, write to us and we'll chase it with the payment provider.

7. How to return — 4 steps

  1. Email us at customer@carfia.com with your order number and reason. We reply within 24 hours on weekdays, 48 hours on weekends.
  2. Get the return address from us. Don't mail your return to the sender's address printed on the package — that's not the return address and it will delay your refund.
  3. Pack and ship the item with its original packaging and accessories. Keep the tracking number. (Don't include non-CARFIA items — we can't send them back.)
  4. Send us your tracking number — that starts Clock 1 in section 6.

Please always contact us before sending a return: packages sent without notice are not accepted.

8. Quick questions


What if I just don't like it?

Return it within 14 days for a one-time exchange or refund . You pay return shipping; the original outbound shipping isn't refunded. From day 15–30, we can still give you a discount code for a new pair.

 

What if it arrived damaged or I got the wrong item?

Email us with photos and your order number. We'll send a prepaid return label and make it right — free remake, replacement or full refund. All fees waived.

 

Who pays the return shipping?

If it's our fault (quality, wrong item, warranty) — we do, with a prepaid label. If you changed your mind — you do, and the original outbound shipping is non-refundable.
