FAQ
Carfia Rectangle Eyeglasses
Rectangle eyeglasses are a classic, timeless shape — a full-rim frame with straight top and bottom lines and softly rounded corners. That horizontal emphasis is exactly what makes them useful: a rectangular frame that is wider than the face adds width and visual balance. That is why our Frame & Face Shapes guide recommends square or rectangular glasses for a Round face (they make it appear slimmer and longer, balancing round features) and also lists rectangle among the geometric shapes that suit an Oval face. Two shapes to think twice about: a Square face, where angular and boxy frames sharpen the jawline instead of softening it, and a Triangle face (narrow forehead, wider jaw), where a frame whose top half is narrower than the forehead is not recommended. The guiding rule is contrast — pick frames that work against your natural contours rather than repeating them.
The Rectangle Eyeglasses collection currently has 62 styles. Frame width comes in six sizes — 138 mm, 140.5 mm, 141 mm, 142 mm, 144 mm and 145 mm — with 142 mm by far the most common (35 styles). Lens widths run from 50 mm to 57.5 mm, lens height from 30.6 mm to 49 mm, bridge width from 15.5 mm to 25 mm and temple length from 139.5 mm to 148 mm. As a rule of thumb: 138 mm (Leoon) and 140.5 mm (Baley) are the narrowest options, 142 mm (Shellton, Shelton, Mathew, Hemet, Amory, Senda) is the core size, and 144 mm (Camet) and 145 mm (Peoria, Arnect) are the widest. To find your own size, take the pair that fits you best and measure straight across from one hinge screw to the other — that distance is your ideal frame width. Every measurement is listed in the Details tab on each product page, next to the Size Guide.
Yes — all 62 styles in this collection are prescription-ready. Choose your frame, then click "Select Lenses" → "Select A Lens Type" to add single-vision distance, single-vision reading, bifocal or progressive lenses (progressives from as low as $35.95). We need a valid prescription issued within the last 24 months; expired prescriptions are not accepted. Lens indexes go up to 1.74 for stronger prescriptions. If we make the lenses wrong, we remake or refund at our cost with a prepaid label. If the error is on your side (wrong prescription given, expired Rx or wrong measurement), you can request an exchange within 30 days of receipt — you pay return shipping and any price difference.
Every Carfia pair includes anti-scratch coating free. From the lens picker you can also add anti-reflective (AR) coating, water-repellent coating, UV-protective coating, blue-light filtering, photochromic / Transitions™ light-adjusting lenses, polarized lenses (+$50) and colour or mirrored tints. Two rules to know before you build your pair: (1) colour tints and mirrored tints cannot be combined with polarized or photochromic lenses; (2) gradient tint is only available on frames with a lens height above 36 mm. In this collection that means 48 of the 62 styles (36.5 mm and taller — Senda-FC, Camet, Hemet, Mathew, Shellton, Amory, Baley, Peoria and the Shelton-C RX styles) can take a gradient tint, while 14 cannot: Leoon (30.6 mm), Arnect (36.0 mm) and Senda-C02/C04/C07-RX (36.0 mm).
Yes, your PD is required for prescription orders. PD is the distance in millimetres between the centres of your pupils, written two ways: binocular PD as one number (for example 63) or dual PD as two numbers (for example 31/30 — right eye first). Most adult binocular PD falls between 52 and 75 mm, with men averaging about 64 mm and women about 62 mm. To measure it yourself: stand 8–10 inches from a mirror, look straight ahead, hold a millimetre ruler against your brow and line the zero up with the centre of one pupil, then without moving your head read the scale at the other pupil. Repeat a few times for accuracy. When ordering: if your prescription says "63/60", enter 63 (far PD) for distance glasses and 60 (near PD) for readers; if it shows a dual PD like 32/31, tick the Dual PD box and enter each eye separately.
It depends on your lenses and your country. Orders over $69 ship free worldwide. United States: Express Shipping 5–10 days for $19.95, or Standard Shipping 8–16 days for $8.95. Canada, Germany, the UK and France: Express 5–10 days for $19.95, Standard 8–20 days for $8.95. You're covered in three situations. Changed your mind or picked the wrong size/style? The 14-Day Fit & Style Guarantee gives you one exchange or a refund within 14 days of delivery, as long as the frames are unworn (or in the best condition if tried on) with original packaging, labels and accessories — you pay return shipping and the original outbound shipping fee is not refunded. From day 15 to day 30 we will still send you a discount code for a new pair. Something our fault — damaged in transit, wrong item or lenses, missing accessory, or a defect in the first 30 days of wear? We cover everything, send a prepaid return label and offer a free remake, replacement or full refund. Every pair also carries a 1-year warranty from the date of receipt against material and workmanship defects, with free repair or replacement and shipping included after 30 days. Refunds are submitted within 48 hours of your tracking number (or of an inspected return); your bank then takes 3–14 business days — card 5–10, PayPal 3, Klarna and instalments 3–14, store credit instantly.
